Why Metaisland is a (true) Metaverse
Metaisland competitors are not Beach Brawl or some racing game, these are Gamefi products. Metaisland is designed to compete with Epic, Konami, Microsoft, Meta, Microsoft or Google's Metaverses.
- AI Gaming will change the way we play; With AI, it is possible to shift the paradigm of basic games, which are traditionally linear. In a classic game, you start simply and follow a set path, encountering and overcoming roadblocks repeatedly until you reach the end. It is based on the repetition of the same tasks over and over until you become an expert and win.
- A Metaverse is more than just an entertainment product; it's an immersive experience that attracts users because of its fun factor. While gamification plays a significant role in the Metaverse, it's merely a fraction of its entirety. The gamification within the Metaverse needs to be tailored to its unique nature; existing games won't suffice. Instead, it should offer a never-ending sandbox of activities. Metaisland exemplifies this concept perfectly. Although its visuals may resemble those of traditional games, its gameplay is unparalleled. Everything respawns, allowing users to engage in activities like hunting, playing football, conducting business, and more.
- A Metaverse must integrate a robust and functional crypto economy, effectively linking the financial aspects of the Metaverse with the broader crypto industry. In our case, we achieve this through two cryptocurrencies: the ISL token, which serves as both a value and governance token traded on the markets, and the WOK (working title to be decided later), a stablecoin used universally across all Metaverse Islands by all users. The conversion between ISL and WOK is managed by us, functioning akin to the central bank of this virtual world.
- Social networking is a crucial component. Users must have the opportunity to interact with others within the Metaverse. We've implemented what we call the rank pyramid, which assigns a score to each user based on their participation. Users can engage in activities such as tipping, chatting, and playing together. Metaisland offers these features and more.
- Accessibility is key; it shouldn't be confined to VR devices used by a limited group. Instead, it should be accessible via television screens or computer monitors, ensuring widespread participation. While mobile phones can be utilized for managing finances or identity, the primary focus of gamification should be on TVs and computers. That's why Metaisland is developed using Unreal Engine and is primarily available on PC and consoles.
- Every Metaverse should offer users a virtual identity. While it doesn't need to be overly complex initially, it should provide basic features similar to those found on other social networks, including a profile picture, social rank and score, abilities, and achievements.
- Scalability without technological limitations is essential. Many competitors struggle because they attempt to replicate the monolithic structure of Web2 platforms like Facebook or Twitter, which isn't suitable for Web3 environments with sophisticated gamification and graphics. Metaisland addresses this by offering a franchising system, akin to Shopify adapted to Web3. Each Island operates as a franchise, accommodating up to 1000 people and offering a potentially lucrative business opportunity. Metaisland can infinitely expand by duplicating Islands, similar to the franchise model of Starbucks. Owners of Metaisland have the potential to earn $10k a month.
- Theming is crucial; it provides users with a universe to immerse themselves in. Metaisland doesn't rely on existing universes but creates its own. We've developed seven factions, each with its own rich history and real books written to establish the backstory and universe of Metaisland. It's a complete franchise with its own distinct art, music, and storytelling.
